Value Added

Have you ever been in a season where you feel your worth is dependent on how others respond to you? I know I have.

It is easy to attach our worth and value to things external - but if we aren't careful, when these things diminish, so does our value and our self-worth.

One quick read thru Acts and the rest of Paul's writings can remind us that our value was never met to be validated externally. People will come and go, relationships shift, favor is there one moment and gone the next, positions wax and wane.

One moment people will love you and save you a seat in church and the next you find yourself unable to gain eye contact with anyone you once considered a friend and you are scrambling to find a seat in the back row.

When we attach our value to how people treat us, we will ride a dramatic rollercoaster of up and down emotions.

Yes - we must be mature and understand that we reap what we sow, but we also need to realize that people are people, and they are fickle -- and we must anchor our value in the unshakable truth of God's word and refuse to be sidelined from the mission because people let us down.

Because the truth of the matter is God will Never let us down.

Here are some quick reminders to start your week rooted in scripture -

**I am loved by the creator of the World so much that he sent Jesus to die in my place, so that I can live forever with Him.

**I am bought with a price, and my worth is far greater than I can imagine. Because God values me more than people could ever value me I will listen to His truth about me over anything else

** My validation only comes from heaven, and not the applause of man. If I live for their approval I am telling God that I value what they say over what He says.

** When I am filled with the Holy Spirit I carry the answer of hope to a hurting world.

Remain on mission friends, keep Jesus the main focus and live for the approval of Heaven.

Marching with you
