a Timer on your Trial

a Timer on your Trial

Today while I was baking cookies the Lord reminded me that even in the furnace, He is in control. As I looked in the oven at the rising cookies I noticed  there was still 2 minutes left on the timer. But I knew better. The cookies needed to come on out, or they'd be so burnt they'd be no good. As I made the decision to pull these out of the oven “early” by standard of the timer, the Lord spoke to my heart and said Just like you know what is best for the cookies, I know what is best for my people. No matter what the world says I set the timer for the fiery furnace. And even when my people are in the furnace - I am the third man in the fire.

woah. Talk about a baking revelation.
Immediately I was reminded of the story of our three beloved Hebrew brothers who found themselves in a fiery furnace, turned up 7x hotter than usual. The King intended to incinerate them - but the Lord showed off in their trial because the brothers stood firm on their faith. They didn't deny the word of the Lord, even though it sent them into a furnace of seeming-death.

When we find ourselves in a furnace, trial, battle, wilderness or season of heartache we need to take notes from this infamous story of our heritage.
1- Don't forget the word of the Lord
2- Remember that even when you can't see it, God is working and you are not alone
3- People will come to see your God through His provision and protection in your fiery trial.
4- God is setting the parameters on your battle.

Just like I was looking out for my cookies, The Lord is looking out for you. He knows how long you need to be in the fire to refine you as pure Gold. When things feel too hard for us, we must hit our knees and remind ourselves that God knows best, and we will surrender to the process, even when it feels we are baking ;)
God is in the business of renewal, restoration and revival.
Never underestimate what he can do with your ashes ❤️
